Whitby Museum
Pannett Park, North Yorkshire
Associations with Count Dracula have made it a destination for goths and there can’t be many places so closely associated with the occult as Whitby. The delightfully haphazard museum’s “hand of glory” — the pickled hand of a hanged man — is surely less of a surprise here than it would be anywhere else. Model ships and cases of carved Whitby jet are on offer for the squeamish.
