Graham Pickles

It is with great sadness that we have to report the passing of Graham Pickles.

The museum owes a huge debt of gratitude to Graham for his many years of voluntary service.

Graham came from an engineering background and brought his methodical ways of working to all tasks at the museum. He was instrumental in the building of the ‘New Wing’ which almost doubled the floor space of the museum and also designed the museum’s first ever website, no mean feat back then!

Graham and his brother Roger were joint Keepers of the museum from 1996 until 2006.

We send our sincere condolences to his family. Graham’s funeral service will take place on Wednesday 4th May at 1pm at Kirkleatham Crematorium.

Pictured here at the opening of the New Wing are; (l to r) Dr Nichol (Keeper 1992 – 1996); Denise Gildroy (Registrar 1991 to present); Roger Pickles (Keeper 1996 – 2006); Billy Harrison (Keeper 1989 to 1992) and Graham Pickles (Keeper 1996 – 2006)
